On the heels of National Suicide Prevention month, Crisis Text Line's Chief Data Scientist Bob Filbin is taking the lead on introducing new methods to save lives and change the way non-profits utilize data along the way. From bullying to trigger words and election results, this episode is meant to bring awareness to the important work that the Crisis Text Line and other organizations are doing to prevent people from taking their lives.

Bob Filbin is Chief Data Scientist at Crisis Text Line, the largest crisis service in the U.S. by text. Bob's role includes developing new avenues of data collection, storing data in a way that makes it universally accessible, and turning data into action through analysis and storytelling. Bob has given keynote lectures on using data to drive action at the YMCA National CIOs Conference, American Association of Suicidology Conference, and SXSW. He has written for the Harvard Business Review and Medium, and was named one of the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s 40 Under 40 in 2016 who are making their mark in the nonprofit world. In his free time, Bob enjoys running and writing. He lives in NYC.
